Scaling Access to Just Green Transition
Microsahara Farms Agritech Limited is a social enterprise founded in Kenya in March 2023. It was initially intended to only scale access to digital production and marketing solutions for smallholder farmers in Western Kenya. However, the company has since remodeled its business approaches through iterative market research and now scales access to a wide scope of adaptation-based solutions that wholesomely contribute to farmers’ resilience and sustainability.

MFAP is a farmer-centered social enterprise that supports smallholder farmers to cope with increased challenges in production and post-harvest handling of produce in East Africa.
Our mission is to support 2,000,000 smallholder farmers to attain just transition to sustainable farming systems by scaling farm-gate access to green innovations and solutions for production, post-harvest handling, and value-addition.
We envision an Africa where smallholder farming is a profitable, sustainable and respectable life endeavor.
WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
Many smallholder farmers in Kenya and the neighboring countries can only attain 25% of their farm’s production potential. Worse still, many lose between 10 and 50% of their produce post-harvest due to inaccessibility to markets and viable produce preservation solutions. In the end, the ecosystem works against SHFs, creating an endless sense of hopelessness.
At MFAP, we leverage our network of scientists and innovators to come up with simple, easy-to-use and tailored solutions for smallholder farmers to enable them enjoy the farming endeavors.
We realize that most of our end users find deeper cultural attachment and meaning beyond economics in farming. We strive to fit our solutions to adapt to farmers expectations, emphasizing supporting farmers to better adapt to the ravaging effects of climate change. We leverage communal structures to scale access to our solutions and cascade impact.
